Crow-Een 2K10 is not taking place this year

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Crow-Een 2K10 is not going to happen this year. There is several reasons why Crow-Een 2k10  will not be taking place this year.  Some of those reasons include the lack of interest and participation, and the time needed to run the contest and promote it.   We still encourage you to dress up as your favorite Crow character this Halloween and submit your photo to the Fan Gallery.   We plan on bringing back Crow-Een next year and hopefully we will be able to revamp the contest as well.

On a personal note from the author:

I’ve been very busy this year with raising my son who just turned a year old on August 3rd.   So any free time I’ve had to work on this site, I’ve been focusing on the development of CrowFans.com version 5.  I promise CrowFans.com V5 will not as long to develop as it took Axl Rose to come out with Chinese Democracy. Thanks for your support of this site; I hope to be able to show off CrowFans.com version 5 in the near future.

Crow-Een 2K9 Winners Have Been Selected

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Crow-Een 2K9 judging is over with and the winners have been selected.  Crow-Een 2K9 was the first year we had to go a tie breaker judge.

Sprinkles, was the winner chosen by the panel of judges.  Jordan from England was our second place finisher.  It was the first time since Crow-Een 2K1 we’ve had someone outside the US place in the top three.  IrisCorneille was selected by the tie breaker judge in a close battle for third place.  Thanks to all those who entered. Looking forward to more entries this year.

Speaking of this’s years contest Crow-Een 2010 or 2K10 we are currently looking at doing a sweeping revamp of the contest.  So what would make you enter the contest? What should we do differently this year?  Please feel free to contact us with your suggestions.

A special thanks goes to Bini for programming the contest entry and judging system, without her the contest would have been very difficult to do.  A specials thanks goes out to the four main judges for Crow-Een 2K9 MoonMistress, SilverUnicorn, Draven666, and Phr0st.

TheCrow.com is back online, Croween,and CrowFans V5

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

TheCrow.com is back online finally after nearly 2 years of downtime.

Crow-Een is currently 50% judged, just waiting on the other two judges to finish up.

CrowFans.com Version 5 development has slowed down a lot due to me being a dad. One of the changes pending for CrowFans.com version 5 will probably launch ahead of version 5.

Crow-Een 2K9 is now accepting entries!

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Crow-Een 2K9 is now online at http://www.croween.com.

The annual crow costume contest is back for another year.  This year we’ve decided to change things up a bit with different prizes, judges, and an earlier entry process.   Crow-Een is about bringing crow fans together around the world and offering every fan an opportunity to visibly show their love for The Crow.

We hope with an earlier entry process it will give fans the opportunity to have more time to prepare their costume and give them a greater window of opportunity to dress up.  For those fans planning on dressing up as The Crow, please read the rules and scoring system page before entering. For those fans without access to a digital camera we will accept snail mail entries. The entry deadline this year is November 30th.

With this year’s contest we felt it was time to shake things up as much as we can on the judges front.  TheCrowTV will serve only as a tie breaker judge. MoonMistress from The Crow: Chamberoom is the only judge from previous contests.  This year we welcome three new judges Draven666 and SilverUnicorn from The Tides of Sin Discussion Board. The fourth judge is Phr0st the founder of CrowFans.com and the former webmaster of TheAvenger.

While it is a contest, it’s not just about winning. Well it might be about winning for some of you!  Typically we are able to secure crow merchandise as prizes, this year we have been unable to. So the winner this year will get a 50 dollar gift certificate to Amazon.com, the second place winner has a choice between the 25 dollar gift certificate to Amazon.com or The Crow: Stairway To Heaven DVD Box Set. The third place winner will receive the prize the second place winner didn’t select.

For more information about this contest please visit CrowEen.com. Also available on the website is a gallery of past entries and winners. Good luck to all those who enter.

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Crow-Een 2K9 judges will be announced this weekend. I’m still figuring out the prize situation.

We can now be found on Facebook and our Twitter acct has been restored.

CrowFans V5 is progressing along and some ideas are being tested out. One of the things I’d like to see accomplished with the new version of CF is more mobile friendly content.  Currently our news section can be accessed via mobile browser.   I’m curious to what you guys would like to see in the next version of CrowFans? If you suggestions contact me.
