  Help Out CrowFans
To help keep this site running the way it does now and even growing in the future, please help out by making donations to help cover the incurred hosting costs.

We're not asking for big donations although they are welcome, but rather numerous small donations. If everyone gives $.50 - $1.00 on a regular basis that would be a tremendous help.

<TheCrowTV> welcome Jeff
<JeffMost> Hi Everybody..
<TheCrowTV> Welcome to the chat everyone, especially to those who came on short notice
<TheCrowTV> we'll start off with a question from DjJungle
<TheCrowTV> What is your viewpoint on today's political climate and all the pressure on the movie industry to "tone down" violence in movies? And do you feel that Hollywood is to blame for the violent acts committed today? (for example: Columbine)
<JeffMost> I think that the climate is a result of politicians looking for an answer to kids acting out with guns and I think kids overseas who see many of the same films we see here dont commit the same acts of violence as in the U.S. because guns aren't readily available.
<TheCrowTV> From Cronos - The first two soundtracks had a heavier sound to them. Salvation is kind of downbeat, what happened?
<JeffMost> The musical approach to each "Crow" film has been a reflection of the tonal qualities of that film's story and characters
<TheCrowTV> This question comes from a lot of fan emails
<TheCrowTV> Was Brandon Lee signed on to do one crow film, or three crow films ? Did he have options to do sequels or not ?
<JeffMost> We signed Brandon Lee to star in 3 crow films
<TheCrowTV> This question is from Corvus - I haven't seen any TV ads or much in the way of advertising at all for Salvation's DVD/Video release? Why? This film got shafted in terms of a theatrical release by Miramax...now are they just going to depend on word of mouth to do the ad-work for them?
<JeffMost> I'm not really sure what is involved with the campaign at this point
<TheCrowTV> From Corvus again
<TheCrowTV> Given the success of "Dark Angel", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and the female-lead, theatrical revamp of "Charlie's Angels", what are the chances of finally seeing a female Crow on the big screen?
<TheCrowTV> Remember to send a question to be asked to Jeff Most, please send a message to TheCrowTV by typing without quotes "/msg TheCrowTV your question goes here".
<JeffMost> I've always supported developing a female crow and we have worked on various female crow stories
<TheCrowTV> From Debra - Why was Skull Cowboy such an ugly creature in the movie? In the end I know his footage was cut completely from the film, was there no "time" to deal with his character to refine it (as well as they did in STH).
<JeffMost> It wasn't that he was an ugly charcacter, we had not shot his scenes with Brandon Lee in them due to scheduling difficulties and therefore the skull cowboy character was dropped
<TheCrowTV> From Debra and Joy, Are you related to actor Don Most?
<JeffMost> No...but I get asked that alot
<TheCrowTV> From YoAnn, claiming he/she is the president of the Official Crow Fan Club in France. Why are the french fans ignored by the Crow stuff, because we don't have any events here despite the fact that The Crow: Salvation was aired in theatres ?
<JeffMost> I only make the films and we sell the film to differnt distributors in each territory. In the case of "Salvation" the french distributor chose not to take advantage of various opportunities we suggested including appearances for press, T.V., etc from the director Bharat Nalluri , Eric Mabius and I who were all eager to travel to France and promote the film.
<TheCrowTV> From Acaz - Why was alex corvis's hair extremely short in some scenes (The close up where he jumps of the prison roof top, where he flashes back and sees the man with the scarred arm and gets punched in the face, and when he discovers the arm in the rubble and states "it's over.")?
<JeffMost> well, we shot those scenes several months after the completion of principal photography and Eric Mabius had roles in other films in between...
<TheCrowTV> From a few fans - What is the status on STH, will it be on for another season, will an announcement be made soon ?
<JeffMost> We've been trying our best to get STH back on the air....
<TheCrowTV> Is there anything that the fans can do to help get STH back on the air ?
<JeffMost> I am not sure there is anything the fans can do
<TheCrowTV> From Tom - Do you have any idea when Crow-fans in Europe (Belgium) will be able to buy or order The Crow: Salvation on VHS ??
<TheCrowTV> To send a question to be asked to Jeff Most, please send a message to TheCrowTV by typing without quotes "/msg TheCrowTV your question goes here".
<JeffMost> I'm not sure
<TheCrowTV> From Emac70, What do you think are the odds of us seeing something like a female crow or some other variation on the formula in future movies?
<JeffMost> very possible
<TheCrowTV> From Acaz -What was cut from The Crow: City of Angels? and Why?
<JeffMost> A bunch of dialoge scenes that slowed the film
<TheCrowTV> From Dab1981 - How about letting some fans have the rights to make their own Crow material? Such as the David Ullman project.
<JeffMost> I am not the copyright holder and don't have a hand in the issues of copyright infringement
<TheCrowTV> except when it comes to the soundtrack correct ?
<JeffMost> I'm not sure what you mean about the soundtracks.
<TheCrowTV> well you do produce the soundtracks, I thought maybe you had some copyrights to it in some regard or another
<JeffMost> I don't have the copyrights ..the artists own the copyrights
<TheCrowTV> Another question from Corvus - Why no Alex Proyas commentary on the DVD box set? Is he too traumatized to speak, or is there some lingering legal jargon on the settlement with the Lee family that keeps Proyas from saying much?
<JeffMost> I really can't comment on why Alex Proyas is not on the commentary track
<TheCrowTV> Ok a follow up to Brandon starring in all three movies, was the Eric Draven charachter to be continued, or was Brandon to be 3 different characters ? - This questions comes from Debra
<JeffMost> Brandon was going to play Eric Draven in all three films
<TheCrowTV> To send a question to be asked to Jeff Most, please send a message to TheCrowTV by typing without quotes "/msg TheCrowTV your question goes here".
<TheCrowTV> We're getting to the lazarus questions shortly
<TheCrowTV> From a few fans and some webmasters
<TheCrowTV> What do you think of all these fan based sites out there ?
<JeffMost> I think the sites are cool for the fans.and alot of them are really well done
<TheCrowTV> Who is responsible for coming out with Crow merchandise, because we want more merchandise ?
<JeffMost> Were working on getting more merchandise out
<TheCrowTV> From sam - What is your most cherished memories of Brandon on the set of the Crow.?
<JeffMost> hangin out with him...laughing...telling jokes..telling stories
<TheCrowTV> I know he pulled some pranks on you and some of the crew, care to share any ?
<JeffMost> I tell a story on the DVD about Brandon Lee pulling a prank on Halloween '92 in which he placed a bunch of shaving cream in his mouth came back to a table where about a dozen of us were sitting and pretended to throw up...spewing shaving cream everywhere.
<TheCrowTV> From Acaz - Why wasn't there a scene with a bird on Alex's shoulders in The Crow: Salvation ?
<JeffMost> It was a directorial choice
<TheCrowTV> In Salvation, why was there footage taken from the previous crow movies?
<JeffMost> We thought it would work well.....and they were alternate takes not the actual scenes used
<TheCrowTV> Got any comments you wish to make public about miramax's treatment of The Crow: Salvation ? Did the cast have anything to say when they found out about the direct to video release?
<JeffMost> I don't really have anything to add other than to say that everyone involved in making the film would have prefered the film to have been released theatrically
<TheCrowTV> Wwell majority of the fans that have seen Salvation so far have enjoyed it
<TheCrowTV> I know a few people in here right now, who have seen it multiple times, won't name any names
<TheCrowTV> From Debra - It seems strange to have a photographer (Robert Zuckerman) on the set shooting stills for a movie. Why was he there, and what was his purpose? Also, Im sure he took hundreds of rolls of photos, why was only one book produced?
<JeffMost> Practically every film set, other than extremly low budgeted films, has a set photagrapher for a variety of reasons the most common use of the photos are production stills used to promote the film.
<TheCrowTV> From Emac70 - What do you think is the appeal of the Crow mythology?
<JeffMost> I think the basic human need to see wrong things righted, and the power of love overcoming evil are very powerful and emotional subjects
<TheCrowTV> From Sam - Has being involved with all the Crow projects made you change any aspect of your life?
<JeffMost> I have become aware of how important it is to respect the power of material that touches peoples lives
<TheCrowTV> To send a question to be asked to Jeff Most, please send a message to TheCrowTV by typing without quotes "/msg TheCrowTV your question goes here".
<TheCrowTV> From sam again - Is there anything about the First movie that you would change? What and why?
<JeffMost> No I wouldn't change anything
<TheCrowTV> From Acaz
<TheCrowTVWhy is it that we the fans can find the glitches either in the story or in a physical aspect of the set, characters, etc. and the editors can't?
<JeffMost> Its not as simple as that. Often times there are things removed or changed that make some detail seem out of place. Of course there are instances of poor contiuity which occur but when you get into post-production its usually too late to fix up some things that filmakers would like to improve upon
<TheCrowTV> With Salvation's lack of a run on the big screen, what is the future of the Crow movie franchise? And is Pressman Films still interested in creating any more "Crow films" in the future?
<TheCrowTV> That question was from DjJungle
<JeffMost> We would like to pursue future Crow projects
<TheCrowTV> Is Lazarus a crow project or a non-crow project, can you tell the fans anything about Lazarus at all ?
<JeffMost> no comment
<TheCrowTV> we're gonna wrap this up shortly, any last questions for Jeff, please message me.
<TheCrowTV> please send a message to TheCrowTV by typing without quotes "/msg TheCrowTV your question goes here".
<TheCrowTV> Any interesting stories on The Crow: Salvation set you wish to share
<JeffMost> Well although it was a tough shoot...we all cast and crew had the best time possible hanging out and being together..we we're a big extended family and the laughs never stopped....Heres one story I'll share...We worked 6 days a week and on our night off , on most weekends we would all get together at a hotel room and remove all the art and furniture from the floors in the Hotel and we would set everything up
<JeffMost> and change the living room into aprivate club...we got closed down a bunch of times
<TheCrowTV> have you talked to KOCH Records about the sales of The Crow: Salvation soundtrack? When I last to talked to them they were quite disappointed with the sales. Do you have any sales figures for The Crow: Salvation soundtrack ?
<JeffMost> I'm not sure how the soundtrack is doing but since "Salvation" just came out yesterday...people should be looking for it in store
<TheCrowTV> Last call for questions
<TheCrowTV> any last questions for Jeff before he heads out
<TheCrowTV> If you could cast a crow film, who would you choose if money was no object?
<TheCrowTV> That was from Corvus
<JeffMost> that depends on the particular story
<TheCrowTV> From Debra- Would he consider Mark Dacascos to continue Eric D on the big screen
<JeffMost> You never know....
<TheCrowTV> From Crow331- Do you know what happened to the Snowglobe that top dollar had? I have been looking for his prop for years with no luck. Did someone on the crew get it, or might I find it out there? How many were made?
<JeffMost> It went to a crew member
<TheCrowTV> The last question comes from Guest4, You said that brandon Lee was to make two other films. What would have been the premise of these movies and what would they have been like ?
<JeffMost> We never got to that point. We had a number of ideas that related to the first story, and were an outgrowth of the comics.
<TheCrowTV> Any last words Jeff before we end this
<JeffMost> I really appreciate your continued support for the crow films and it has been very reassuring to see many of your reviews of "Salvation" posted online at different sites. I think that the Crow box set is a great way to get into all that goes into making these films, for those of you who haven't seen "Salvation" I think you are going to really enjoy the film and again thanks for all of your great support I can't think of a cooler fan base.
<TheCrowTV> Well thank you Jeff for doing this chat for us. Thanks to all the fans who showed up considering we only had three days to promote this. After Jeff leaves, I will open up this room in unmoderated free for all.
<JeffMost> Thanks Frank your a great host
<TheCrowTV> thanks Jeff
